Located in the heart of Astoria, Queens, the MALIKAH Safety Center is a tribute to the North African and Muslim immigrant women of Queens, NY. Born out of a genuine need for a dedicated space where these women can not only feel safe but thrive, the center encapsulates MALIKAH's commitment to safety, empowerment, and community growth. Our doors are open wide to the entire community, embracing individuals from all backgrounds.

Together, we can envision and manifest a city where every individual, especially our Muslim sisters, feels safe, respected, and empowered.

Offerings

From arts to business, spirituality to entertainment, our wide array of programs ensures that every member finds something that resonates with them. Some highlights include:

Arts: An art residency for budding Muslim women artists, a bi-annual film festival, and our First Friday youth open mics.

Education & Spirituality: Arabic classes, Halaqas/spiritual circles, book clubs, and educational panels.

Community & Well-being: Monthly healing justice circles, dance and movement workshops, food pantry meet-ups, and self-defense classes in our MALIKAH dojo.

Business: Business workshops and vending opportunities to help women entrepreneurs flourish.
