Objective

The Malikah Safety Trainer and Marshall Fellowship is a unique initiative aimed at empowering our community. We're training dedicated Safety Marshals – we aim to build a network of 25 vigilant individuals committed to safeguarding neighborhoods and promoting a culture of community safety. This program serves as a proactive and community-oriented alternative to traditional policing methods.

Who We're Looking For

We invite women and girls passionate about making a difference in their communities through active participation in safety and security initiatives. We're actively seeking individuals proficient in multiple languages. No prior experience is necessary – our program includes comprehensive training.

Training

Engage in a one two-hour training session and a one-hour marshal orientation led by Malikah Trainers.

  • Acquire essential skills, including situational awareness, conflict resolution, emergency response, and effective communication.

  • Enjoy opportunities for additional training, including first aid, throughout the year.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Malikah Safety Marshal, your duties include:

  • Conducting patrols in designated areas to ensure the safety and security of community members.

  • Serving as a point of contact during emergencies, liaising with necessary emergency services.

  • Playing a crucial role in community education, spreading awareness about safety practices and preventive measures.

Compensation

Safety Marshals will earn compensation to train, recognizing and valuing their crucial contribution to community safety. Additionally, each Malikah Marshal will be provided with a Malikah shirt and beanie or cap to be worn on safety outings.
